Abstract was founded in 2020 with a singular goal: increase government transparency. What began as an R&D engineering project at Loyola Marymount University has evolved into a VC-backed AI company with teams in New York and Los Angeles.

For five years, our founding team worked closely with lobbyists, legislators, and public policy professionals to build an AI-powered bill tracker for California. That work revealed a deeper problem: making sense of legislation, not just tracking it.

Today, Abstract partners with Fortune 500 companies and Am Law 200 firms to deliver real-time, contextualized policy intelligence — helping legal, compliance, and government affairs teams understand exactly what regulatory shifts mean for their organizations.
